Sophomore Nic Ramos decided to pay his spring tuition a bit differently this semester...he brought in a duffel bag filled with 14,309 dollar bills, a 50-cent piece, and a penny! The bulging bag weighed a whopping 33 pounds, and it took Ramos two whole days to withdraw the required funds from several area banks. It also took three university officials nearly an hour each to count the entire payment! The stunt was partially a joke, but Ramos, an economics major, also intended to make a point about how much college is costing students these days.
